Falling

Khalid Mukhtar · July 24, 2019 · Leave a Comment

Ammi calls.

Luqi slips.
Luqi falls.
Luqi rises.
Luqi bawls.

Look, he dries his
Watery eyes. Is
Ibby there
On the chair

With his
Ibbylicious hair?
Ibby reads.
Ibby hums.

Luqi’s better.
Here he comes
Down the stairs,
Through the hall.

Watch him slip.
Watch him fall.
Watch him rise.
Hear him bawl

As he answers
Ammi’s call.

Poetry, Silly rhymes
