Khalid Mukhtar · May 22, 2020 ·

All that’s within
And all that’s between
Alif Lām Mīm
And Alif Lām Mīm

Rolls off my tongue
With such ease
Like morning time dew
On a leaf

But it’s easy to miss
That it’s easy because
It came on a heart
With no traces of flaws

A heart that could bear
The weight of a Word
And a cosmos of Truth
On an Arabic stream

From Alif Lām Mīm
To Alif Lām Mīm
To Alif Lām Mīm
To Alif Lām Mīm…

Poetry, Ramadan
